Despite, recreational use of marijuana has been legal in California since 2016, many workers were receiving a slash because of their OFF WORK practices.
Finally, California protects workers and employers CAN'T penalizing workers for using marijuana during their time off work. As per article Human Resources Director Magazine article, "the bill would legally protect the off-work use of marijuana while allowing employers to fire or suspend workers for possessing or being impaired by marijuana while performing their work."
