The criminalization of marijuana financially burdens taxpayers with and endless
prosecutions and incarcerations of
low-level cannabis arrests. On the other hand, legalization creates jobs and opens a new avenue for taxes to come in and support the development of the different states and the country at large.
This is a no brainer! The 15 states and the District of Columbia that have now legalized cannabis for adult use are living proof. The 36 states that regulate medical marijuana access need to step up. As the St Lois Post Dispatch article said "It’s senseless to continue to criminalize marijuana."
Reading these kind of articles makes me think that civil liberties, sanity and health might be foreign words for law makers.
